Sautee sliced onions and crushed garlic in 1 tablespoon of oil (I used vegetable oil) until lightly browned 2-3 minutes

Remove onion and garlic

Add chicken, salt & pepper and light brown on both sides 6-7 minutes

Add browned onions and garlic back to pot

Add sweet potatoes and stir for 1 minute

Add 1 can of tomato sauce, 3 heaping tablespoons of muhammara, 1/2 cup water

Stir and cover on low heat for 13 minutes

Add cilantro and dates and stir

Cover for another 4 minutes

Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice
