Muhammara Red Pepper Dip

Muhammara is a classic middle eastern dip that originates from Aleppo, is so rich in flavor and versatile.  So simple to make and can easily be stored for later use!

Ingredients

  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 jalapeno optional
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp tahini
  • 1 juice of lemon approximately 1/4 cup
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a food processor add red bell peppers, onion and jalapeƱo 

  2. Pulse for 30 seconds

  3. Add remaining 6 ingredients, pulse for additional 30 seconds

  4. Add walnuts, pulse for 20 seconds

  5. Slowly add olive oil in pulse for additional 20 seconds

  6. Serve with pita chips, or on a sandwich, as a dip for veggies, or as a base for entree dishes
